i'll tell you "what i love"
firmly, y'all, very firmly. in this case, i mean i'm putting my foot down and refusing to deal with any guilt trips or tomfoolery. period. that's all i'm gonna say about that.
another week has gone by, and it's been punctuated with a surprise hookup with scurvy, where we rode electronic animals (mine was a harder ride, but hers was steadier and longer...) it was the best $0.50 i've spent in weeks, and that was for both of us! we dined on allucaneat sushi, and rolled ourselves up the hill. i think she decided to stop being friends with me after virgin records where i decided to try out and actually like 'the emancipation of mimi'. i admit to being seduced by the cover, but she's actually good, not trying too hard, with the exception of the first single...
i spent the week prepping the girls for the jazz showcase and got all giddy because they were gonna sound awesome. there's something about 14/15 year old girls who sing AND play their own instruments AND write songs...yep, they're gonna blow up and i can't wait to keep working with them. they make the last couple months of work worth it, as i will have something to continue looking forward to.
Gerri's going away partay marked a reunion of sorts for us, and also some new friends for some. Likening dogs to small Japanese children and murderous looks of internalized faggotry aside, it was a good night.
just getting caught up at the library and setting off to vacuum my house to thelonious monk, gonna search for some June Jordan too, since i heard her read her stuff courtesy of the ol' co-op radio (102.7 CFRO) and then it's time to cruise around in a midget with my favorite gay boyfriend. all4now.
